GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT
Location, Location, Location! Ralls is centrally located on the East Plains connecting 4 counties on two major highways. Business is Booming on the HWY! Build on 207
The new Girls Softball park built by RISD is a nice addition to an undeveloped neighborhood on the south side of town. The area is ideal for housing development.
The City has started developing a commercial district along hwy 62/82. Ralls has room to move and grow!
Dollar General is currently rebuilding a new store. The original store burned during the Christmas holiday. However, Dollar General was eager to rebuild due to the high volume of sales. The new store is located on the hwy 207 and 62/82.
Ralls has room to grow. The town in surrounded by open fields of farmland and vacant lots waiting for commercial development. The City of Ralls received a $250,000 grant for a new lift station and sewer lines for this area in 2003. A $148,000 new water line project was completed in the summer of 2005. 580,000 Community Storm Shelter Ralls has recently spent $200,000 renovating the Down town business district. The work consisted of new sidewalks, ADA ramps, trees, park benches, and brick work that enhance the red brick streets. The City was awarded another $150,000 to begin Phase II of the downtown project. Downtown Ralls consists of insurance businesses, gift stores, museum, library, RISD offices, and City Hall. All businesses center around an old fashion city square with gazebo.
